Daily Doodle

Woo! Busy week. I've got some drawings and a new photoshop painting to show! I did another animation, but it came out so good that I decided to just render it out and add it to my reel. I plan to update my reel with new material at the beginning of next month (May) so be on the lookout!

Chainsaw faeries! They come and help you dispose of furniture you don't want anymore, hee hee!

Happy Easter!

Hey everyone. I hope you are all having a Happy Easter! Sadly I don't have much to post this week. It's been a big week for planning for me, but so far I don't have much to show for it.

I've started several projects to keep myself busy, sort of small shorts if you will. I'm working on the writing and storyboarding for them now.

I also have another short Maya animation that is almost done, just putting in the finishing details. And another photoshop painting!

So next week I'll have more to show lol. For now here are two sketches I managed to draw between reading books on Flash, 3D Studio Max, advanced rigging, and the general madness that is my life.

Yes...another pug!

Moiraine sedai, telling the story of Manetheran to the people of Two Rivers, from Rand's point of view. I made her staff much longer than described because I feel it would make it more dramatic that way.

Daily Doodle

The picture above came about because we had an ant invasion in the kitchen. My mom made the comment "ants really like cereal" and this popped into my head.

More Wheel of Time drawings, this one is a trolloc.

The above and the following are some Tera fanart.

Well here's today's post as promised! I had a great time at GDC and I even managed to draw a little while I was there. But briefly after I got back I managed to find some time to animate a few things to show you all! So without further ado:

I seem to have created this pug dog character that I can't stop drawing. No, I don't own a pug but I really want to.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I saw Alice in Wonderland the day before I drew this.

Got to the hotel in San Francisco and had a night with nothing to do, so I drew the stuffed animal I brought with me.

I'm reading my favorite book series again: The Wheel of Time. So there will probably be a few pictures from that story as time goes on. "Ilyena...my sweet Ilyena. What have I done?"

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Nope, I'm not feeling sick, I drew this for a friend of mine.

These are sketches from my tiny sketch pad that I take everywhere with me. I was eating dinner alone my first day of GDC and I was feeling so good I decided to go to a restaurant instead of just eating in the food court. I sat alone at my table and while I waited for my food I drew this.

Then, overhearing a couple of guys walking in (not GDC attendants) making comments about me drawing at my table, I drew the picture above.

Waiting for a session to begin....

Ah, I drew this while waiting for a session to begin on my last day of GDC. I'd only had four hours sleep the night before, and was dying for some coffee. Someone ahead of me had a cup placed on the floor beside their chair, so I drew it. Afterwards I went and got my own, and it was the worst coffee I've ever tasted! It wasn't from a well known coffee shop, just a little place; I only had ten minutes before my next session, afterall. I wrote "Ick" on my coffee cup lid and got a few comments about that from people sitting nearby, haha.

More waiting for sessions to start....

I had the chance to play a new MMO that's still in development called Tera. It's created by Bluehole Studio in Korea and being published in America by En Masse Entertainment. I had so much fun playing this game that I came back to play every day of the conference, and I was lucky enough to get a free t-shirt on the last day. This is just a 30 second sketch of what one of my characters looked like.

More waiting! lol

Sorry Folks

I'm afraid there won't be any pictures posted this week. I've been working very hard to get everything organized for my trip to San Francisco to attend GDC. So I decided that instead of posting only a handful of pictures I could manage to draw between building demo reel packages, printing resumes, and packing, I would hold off and just post lots of drawings on the next Sunday that I'll be able. Please check back on the 21st for what is sure to be a very big post!

Daily Doodle and Extra

I'm trying to keep my photoshop skills sharp. Although I usually use Photoshop to ink, this is my first time using the pen tool to ink. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that in my 10+ years using this program, I'm still learning new things that others consider basic. But I'm very very happy with the results. I've been having some pretty severe computer difficulties, so this will probably be the only picture I can work up like this for a few weeks.

I didn't make the background.

I don't usually post drawings so personal, but I felt this just had to be drawn. Watching Joannie Rochette perform her short program only a few days after her mother's sudden death gave me chills. I couldn't help but cry in shared grief for her. I know that I personally would never have the strength to accomplish such a feat so close to such a life shaking event.
